July 10, New Live Video

This week I shot a nice straightforward video with a couple of mates. Turned out pretty well too if I say so myself. Big thanks to Simon Wells and Chris Galler.

June 6, SFTHS Guest Post at ’100 Great Things About London’

This week I was featured as part of the ’100 Great Things About London’ series. My offering was an episode on the East End (no surprises there!). You can visit the project here

February 28, SFTHS Featured in The Hackney Gazette

A nice article was written on  the ‘Folk Olympics’ London Songs in this week’s Hackney Gazette. You can view the article here

Dec 31, BBC New Years Eve Show

The world finally saw sense at the close of 2011 and I was broadcast to the nations
courtesy of the BBC World Service. Invited as a guest on the ‘World Have Your Say’
New Years Eve Special from the top of Bush House in the centre of London, I
performed a couple of songs and enjoyed the fireworks from one of the best seats
in the house. Thanks to John the Cabby for the pic.

Oct 1, New Series! Folk Olympics

After a couple of months of recovery after ending year long East End ‘Song A Week’
extravaganza,I’m teaming up with Londonist.com to bring you ‘Folk Olympics’. This will be a
fortnightly series of tales from the 5 Olympic Boroughs; Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Hackney,
Waltham Forest and Newham and songs inspired by them.

This series runs until July 2012 and you can find it all here: ‘Folk Olympics’

July 27, BBC The Robert Elms Show

Today I had the great honour of being the first person in the history of the world to perform at the London Aquatic centre, host of all aquatic events for London 2012! As a guest on the Robert Elms show I was invited to chat and perform ‘Three Words’ which has a connection to Newham the borough from which we were broadcasting. You can hear it all here.
